Acorn nut: Also refered to as a crrown hex nut, blind nut, cap nut, domed cap nut, or dome nut, is a nut that has a domed end on one side. It’s paired with our hex bolt set for the hangers that mount to the front of the door.
Anchor: In relation to barn door hardware, there are drywall anchors and concrete bolt anchors. Anchors are an insert that, combined with the appropriate screw, can create a firm mount anywhere on a drywall panel or concrete. Drywall anchors are plastic while the concrete anchors are steel.
Anti-jump pads:Anti-jump pads are small circular accessories that are mouted to the top of the door. It does not affect the operation of the door, but fills the void between the door and the track so thay there isn’t enough room for tthe door to bounce off.
Anti-jump (L): The L anti-jumps are meant for the bent door hangers to prevent bypass doors from jumping off the track. Instead of mounting to the top of the door like the regular anti-jumps, the L shaped ones are mounted onto the back of the bent hanger because the hangers protrude out and away from the track. The top of the anti-jump would hit the bottom of the track when the door bounces, preventing the door from jumping off the track.

- Bent (door) hangers: Unlike our regular hangers that hang straight down, the bent ones jut out at a 90 degrees angle. This is used in our single track bypass and triple bypass. It allows a door to overlap and bypass with an inner door. Please note, due to the overlap, you will be losing an overall 6″ in door width so please make accommadations by increasing your doors’ width.
- Bracket: Brackets are mounted to wall and is used to hold out the second track in double track bypass and the triple bypass. Depending on which style you ordered, you could have U-brackets or Z-brackets(discontinued).
- Brushed nickel: Other than our classic matte black finish, we have a brushed nickel color that’s like a muted silver.
- Bypass: In barn door hardware, bypass refers to a configuration that allows the doors to overlap when opening, leaving half or more(depending on setup) of the doorway accessible. Generally bypasses are used when there is a lack of wall space on either side of the opening for single or double doors to slide completely out of the doorway.

- Classic: Classic refers to our most popular roller design. It comes in black and brushed nickel. The strap on the hanger loops over the wheel. At Home Depot and Lowe’s, they are referred to as “J strap.”
- Concrete bolts: If your wall is concrete, brick, or title, we recommend using concrete bolts rather than the regular lag bolts provided. Concrete bolts will also come with metal anchors to hold the bolt firm.
- Custom track length: The only customization we offer is the track length if you need us to trim down the track for you. The only platforms we offer custom track lengths on is Etsy and our own website. Custom track orders cannot be returned. We do not offer custom doors or custom roller designs.

Door stopper: Coming in a set, these stoppers typically sit at the ends of the track. They prevent the door from rolling off the track. To ensure safety, door stoppers are a must for all hardware kits.- Double door non-bypass: A double door non-bypass is a hardware system where there are two doors that slide to to meet flush in the middle. They will open outwards and rest on both sides of the opening’s walls to ensure you can access your doorway completely. They do not stack or overlap with each other.
- Double track bypass: The double track bypass is a hardware system where there are 2 tracks and one door will sit on one track, allowing the doors to overlap and stack. Since each door has their own track, the doors are independent from each other and will never touch. Double track bypasses are often used when there is a lack of wall space on either side of the opening.
- Drywall Anchors: These plastic bits go into the drywall to hold screws. We do not recommend mounting all lag bolts into the drywall because your will collapse due to the weight. Small accessories such as wall mounted floor guides can be used with drywall anchors.

- Extender: Extender is referred to our spacer extenders. Please see spacer extender for more details.

- Flat (door) hanger: These hangers hang straight down and mount to the front of the door. They are used with all oour hardware kits.
Floor guide: These small accessories are typically floor mounted and will prevent your door from swinging and tilting in.

- Hanger: Hangers are what mounts to the door and what hangs the door from the track. It’s a strap with wheels that allow smooth sliding on the track. They come in various materials, designs, and colors to match whatever aesthetic you are trying to accomplish. All hanger rollers come as a set which included 2 individual hangers rollers.
- Header board: A header board is a solid piece of wood that spans the opening for a doorway. For barn doors, header boards are a necessity because it not only helps distribute the weight of your door and hardware, it adds aesthetic, and it positions the door far enough from the wall so that it will be able to clear the door frame or trim when sliding.
- Hex bolt: Hex bolts are for the door hanger and used to mount the hanger to the front of the door so it can be placed onto the track.

Inner track: With double track bypass and triple bypass, the inner track refers to the track that is closest to the wall.

- Junction plate: These small metal plates are used to join one or more tracks. They are used when the track length is above a certain length or you decided to extend the length of your track. Junction plates do not interfere with the sliding of the rollers.

- Lag bolt：Lag bolts are used to mount the track through the wall and into the studs.

- Mini：Mini kits are used for lightweight doors such as cabinets or windows. As they can only hold up to 50lbs, please ensure the hanging doors do not exceed the weight limit.

Non-bypass：Non-bypass refers to either a single door non-bypass or a double door nono-bypass. There is no overlap and the doors(if double doors) will only be able to meet flush in the middle.

- Opening：Opening is either the doorway or the empty space you are trying to cover with doors. It could be an doorway to a room/closet or the middle of a room because you are trying to close off part of the room and use the doors as a divider.
- Oder ID / #：No matter where you purchased from, there is always an order # that will help us identify what you purchased, when you purchased, and your name and shipping information. Please have it ready for us if you need help with missing or damaged parts or you are in need of some installation help. Please check your email since you would have recieved an email notification regarding your order with the order ID.

- Roller：Attached to the hanger are rollers. These wheels run on the track and allow your doors to open and close.

- Single track bypass：These hardware systems come with 1 track, 1 pair of flat hangers, and 1 pair of bent hangers. This allows the 2 doors to overlap eachother. Please keep in mind because both of the doors ride on one track, they are always overlapped so you will be losing 6″ in overall door width so please accommadate with wider doors. When you pull on more door, the other one will follow once the wheels touch.
- Soft close：A soft close mechanism is designed stricftly for sliding door hardware. It brings sliding doors to a smooth and controlled stop, preventing the door from bouncing or slamming shut. Not only does this reduce noise, it also extends the lifespan of doors and hardware.
- Spacer：Spacers look like a top hat and they are paired with lag bolts. These are mounted with the lag bolts to extend the track off the wall for enough space to ensure your door will be able to clear the wall. For door trim or thicker than average doors, please mount a header board before mounting the track.
- Spacer extender：Not to be confused with spacers, spacer extenders are smaller cylinders that are 3/4″ thick. They are used in many different ways. If your door is below the average thickness, you can add spacer extenders between the hanger and the front of the door. This will push your door back closer to the wall to reduce the gap. If your track length is 8ft or below, you can use spacer extenders in place of a header board for wall trim or thicker than average doors. Please note, spacer extenders will not work with double bypass, triple bypass, and tracks that are over 8ft.
- Spoke wheel：Spoke wheels are a type of roller design that looks like a large wagon wheel.
- Straight：Straight is referring to our straight design rollers. Not to be confused with our classic design, our straight design does not have the metal strap looping over the wheel. The roller part is fully exposed. On Home Depot and Lowe’s, they are referred to as “I strap.”
- Stud：In construction, stud is a board that extends from the top of the ceiling to the bottom of the floor inside a wall and offers support. When it comes to mounting sliding barn doors, the track that holds the door is mounted to the studs. It supports the track as well as the doors that slide on it. It’s the foundation of a home and it holds it up.
T
- Track：Heavy duty and made of steel, the track, or sometimes called rail, mounts above the door opening. It’s what the door will hang from and where the door will slide back and forth on. The track should be mounted into the studs to have maximum stability.
- Triple bypass：A triple bypass is a hardware system that allows 3 doors to stack behind one another. It comes with 2 pairs of flat hangers and 1 pair of bent hangers to create the overlap. Similar to the double bypass, the triple also comes with 2 sets of tracks. Due to the outer 2 doors overlapped on the outer track, you will be losing an overall 6″ to door width so please accommadate with wider doors.
- Top mount：Top mount refers to a type of roller hangers that mount to the top of the door rather than the front. You will not need to worry about hex bolts due to door thickness. Top mounts can only be used with doors that are 1″ or thicker otherwise the screws could crack the wood of the door. Top mounts also can’t be used for single track bypass and triple bypass bceuase there are no top mounted bent hangers.

- U-bracket：U-brackets are mount as an upside down U shape with the double track bypass and triple bypass to hold out the second track.
- U-bypass：Also refered to as a type of double track bypass, the U-bypass uses U-brackets to hold out the second track. See double track bypass for more information.
W
- Washer：Washers are small thin disks that come as either 1/16″ or 3/16″. The 1/16″ washers are paired with the hex bolts and acorn nuts while the 3/16″ washers are used with the lag bolt and spacers. When installing the double track bypass or triple bypass, please make sure you have the 3/16″ washers installed between the wall and the spacer otherwise the bolt on the back of the hanger roller will bit the bracket bolts and prevent the door from sliding properly.
Z
- Z-bracket：Z- brackets are mounted on the wall to hold out the second track in our double track bypass and triple bypass. Please do not confused with the U-bracket. (Z-brackets are discontinued).
- Z-bypass：Also referred to as a type of double track bypass, the Z-bypass uses Z-brackets to hold out the second track. See double track bypass for more information.
